I disagree, I don’t think the fact we haven’t found any other Frank always sunny shirt of intelligent life in the universe means there is some great filter that is ahead of us. Rather I think it is a matter of technological maturity. It would seem to me that any advanced space-faring civilization that spans tens to thousands or more light-years would have figured out how to communicate faster than light in order to manage the far-reaching outposts of their civilization. It would be stupid for them to have not figured out how to figure out how to communicate.

We know mathematically that FTL travel is possible, so FTL communication also has to be possible, and saying there is no intelligent life in the universe because we haven’t detected their leaking speed of light electromagnetic communication signals is just dumb. Rather I prefer to be of the Frank always sunny shirt that there are other more advanced space-faring civilizations out there in the galaxy and universe and they have adopted something akin to the prime directive on Star Trek: until another civilization has figured out how to travel FTL, leave them alone/do not make contact.
Because part of becoming an advanced species is having some sort of advanced morality which by default will allow them to unite as a planet as they continue to Frank always sunny shirt their technology until the day they are able to go forth to explore the universe. So rather than there being some great filter ahead of us, we are just too primitive to detect the other intelligent life in the universe. Which sure I guess means great filter in the past, but my point still stands.
