I am glad that the laws changed later on, and that divorce was more obtainable for those in Isabella’s position. It was just a sad story in general, and ended with an even sadder fate for the Goku and Vegeta version Marvel Avengers shirt woman maligned. This book was a fascinating read that not only documented the case of Mrs Robinson, but also gave some great insight into the rise in popularity of diarists in the Victorian era, the establishment of the Divorce Court, and the medical beliefs of the time.
Goku and Vegeta version Marvel Avengers shirt, ladies tee, tank top, hoodie and sweater
The book tells us the story of Mrs Robinson from start to finish, with brief pauses in between sections to comment on the prevailing views of the Goku and Vegeta version Marvel Avengers shirt. The prose was very readable and the book offered a large number of notes and bibliographical references at the end, showing the extent of Summerscale’s research for the piece. I found it quite riveting reading.
This is a well-presented account that will be a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the Victorian period in general, the changing roles of women at that time and Victorian medical practises. While I enjoyed the first part of this book, I felt that it rather fizzled at the end. This is not necessarily the Goku and Vegeta version Marvel Avengers shirt fault (since it’s non-fiction, she has no control over the outcome of the trial, after all), but it did feel somewhat anticlimactic. Also the focus shifted from Mrs. Robinson to the courts, legal teams, and arguments for and against. It almost gave me a feeling of abandonment–here I was, getting to know Mrs. Robinson, hearing about her thoughts and feelings, and then all of a sudden, she’s gone. I can still see her, but we are no longer close.
