When I was in 8th grade my whole class had to put on a show for our (catholic school) and afterward, one rich kid’s family who lived near the church hosted an afterparty. All the parents who were supposed to be supervising went into the kitchen and got sloshed, so when his older sister showed up with her friends and beer, they never noticed. Like 80% of the 65+ student class was drunk that night, and no adult realized it for about 2-3 hours because they were busy getting wine drunk and gossiping in a completely different room.
